A SEASON OF TRANSITION


UPDATE:
 We are now finishing our first week at the new base location in Tokyo, Japan. God has been exceedingly faithful in taking care of housing and logistical details. As a whole the base is very tired from this season of transition yet the overall feeling at the base is one of joy, anticipation and expectancy. This is because, although we all have a place to live currently, several of the staff are in temporary housing. As a base, we are still contending for the buildings that YWAM Tokyo will call home here.

God has been bringing greater unity to our team as students and staff alike join together in intercession for the city, for the base, and for a release of the resources and buildings that God has promised. There have been many words that people have received about the timing of the Lord in this process. He seems to be saying that His desire was to include the new students at the base in the process of walking into His promises. Last night, we had our first corporate prayer time about buildings and provision with the staff, leaders, and students all together. It was an amazing time of calling out to Father and asking Him to lead in His way and His timing. God is faithful, God is good, and His plan is the only one we want.

On a personal note, God has been bringing me through a season of accelerated growth. He has been beautifully and relentlessly going after my heart, teaching me more about trust, timing, hearing His voice, and in the midst of everything giving me peace and joy. I keep being encouraged by Phil 4:4-9:

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”

God has been talking to me a lot about peace and trust and timing. In my personal walk right now, there are many things that could cause me to grow anxious. It is interesting that at the same time, there is much that the base is facing that we could easily grow anxious in as well. And yet the command of God is to be anxious in nothing and in everything to give thanks and present the requests to him. He promises to give a peace that transcends understanding and guards over heart and mind. I love this! May we all grow more and more in this revelation. May we know to the very depths of our hearts the goodness and faithfulness of God. May our trust increase and our relationship grow. And may we be “…rooted and established in love”, Eph 3:17.

PRAYER REQUESTS: Please pray that God brings in the buildings that He has for us in His way and timing. And please pray that all of us here at YWAM Tokyo walk in Bold Faith, Radical Joy, and Continual Thanksgiving.
